The Girls on the Grid Line Pre-Apprenticeship Program is a six-week summer experience designed to introduce participants to careers in the utility industry while building essential workforce and life skills. Meeting four days per week in June and July, the program combines hands-on learning, safety and industry certifications, academic skill-building, physical agility preparation, and career readiness training. Participants also engage with utility professionals through career panels and mentorship opportunities.

To support continued growth, participants reconvene monthly during the school year for enrichment sessions focused on leadership development, career exploration, driver’s license preparation, and professional skills such as resume writing and interviewing. Together, these experiences help prepare young women for future opportunities in skilled trades and utility careers.
